Visiting Lower Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona was a must on our American Southwest Road Trip. Antelope Canyon is a unique and beautiful place. The photographs taken in the slot canyons are iconic. (In fact, the most expensive photograph ever sold, Phantom by Peter Lik, was taken in Antelope Canyon.) I’ve seen so many gorgeous photographs taken in Antelope Canyon that I knew I had to experience, and photograph it, for myself.
Road trip vacations have become a favorite way for Kyle and I to explore while we travel. We typically fly to a city, rent a car, and then drive to all the places we want to see- mostly National Parks and fun cities. In September 2017 we took our vacation to Nevada, Arizona, and Utah. Here is our American Southwest Road Trip Itinerary.
Visiting the Grand Canyon North Rim has been on my bucket list for a while, so it was an easy must-see destination during our American Southwest Road Trip Vacation. We were lucky enough to book a cabin for a night (best decision ever!) and we were able to experience the sunset over the beautiful North Rim views.
We started our Southwest Vacation by flying into Las Vegas and staying the night in the city. The following morning we completed the 5(ish) hour drive to the Grand Canyon North Rim. The drive was pretty long but worth it to experience such an amazing place.
The Delicate Arch Hiking Trail is one of the most popular hikes in Arches National Park. Located just outside of Moab, Utah, Arches National Park is home to over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, and the Delicate Arch is the most iconic.
The Angels Landing Hike in Zion National Park was my favorite hike of our Southwest Vacation. (I’ll have a post about our entire trip up in the next few weeks!) I heard it was difficult, and scary, and awesome. I knew I had to hike it.
Kyle and I were a little worried about the weather. It had been raining on and off all morning. After a late breakfast, we decided to wing it and headed to the park.
