Welcome to The Wander Guide, I’m so happy you’re here! My name is Hannah and I am the creator of The Wander Guide. I started The Wander Guide as a place to share my travel experiences, photos, and tips for others wanting to plan similar trips. My travel is usually focused on hiking locations, big cities, budget friendly tips, and picturesque destinations.

2016, Max Patch
I’m married to my best friend, Kyle, and we have two dogs, Bowser and Dexter. We’re about to embark on a life changing adventure: parenthood! Our little girl is due October 2018. We love to travel and hike together, which is what sparked the idea of this blog. I’m also interested in cooking, baking, exploring Knoxville, being active and healthy, and everything about pregnancy and becoming a mom! This blog is also a place to share the adventures of my life, so you’ll likely see more posts about parenthood as we learn to navigate raising a new human. (Hopefully we’ll travel and hike with her in the near future, too!)
As far as my professional life goes, I have a BA in Photography and have worked as a professional commercial photographer for the past 2 years. I’ve also freelanced as a photographer for over 10 years, shooting anything and everything. (All photographs on The Wander Guide have been taken by me or by Kyle!) With a desire to live my best life and to balance work and family life, I’m leaving my corporate job and planning to work as a freelance commercial photographer in the months to come. I’m really excited about this new chapter in my professional life.
My love for travel began as a child and has grown as I’ve become an adult. I started this blog after Kyle and I were married, so a majority of my travels are trips we have taken together over the years.
If you are interested in my travel related post archives, head on over to my Where I’ve Been page to see all of those posts! (This would be a great way to find helpful trip planning advice without having to sort through all of blog posts.)
