Dog Parks

Most dogs love having open space to run, a place to play with other dogs, and a new environment to explore. We are lucky to have so many great dog parks here in Knoxville for our furry friends to enjoy.

With all the great dog parks, how do you know which one to choose? The Concord Dog Park is hard to beat. There is lake access for swimming and a large, open area for playing with other dogs. In my opinion, this is the best dog park in town.

Market Square

Market Square in Downtown Knoxville is always a fun place to hang out, especially with your furry friend in tow. There are often festivals happening (and some are specifically for dogs!) and many of the restaurants allow dogs on their patio.

Ijams Nature Center & Meads Quarry

Ijams Nature Center and Meads Quarry are great places to take your dog. There are a few easy hiking and walking trails that are dog friendly. Ijams Nature Center and Meads Quarry are perfect places to get your outdoor fix.

Breweries

Knoxville has a ton of great breweries and many of them have patios so you can bring your dog with you. Some of my favorite dog friendly breweries are Crafty Bastard, Schulz Brau, and Balter Beerworks.

You can check out all the local breweries in my Knoxville TN Brewery Guide. (Note: I’d recommend checking with each individual brewery to ensure they are dog friendly. But from my experience, most of them have outdoor areas and allow dogs.)

House Mountain

If you’re looking for a dog friendly hike just outside of Knoxville, TN, then House Mountain is for you. It’s a moderate to strenuous hike that is almost 6 miles round trip… so make sure you and your pup are ready for it. (And pack plenty of water for all who are hiking!) I like this hike because it’s fun and has a great view at the top.
