Forks of the River Sunflower Fields
I previously wrote a post about the Forks of the River Sunflower Fields (which you can find here with info on how to get there!) but I went back and took more pictures so I wanted to share those. I decided to offer a few mini session spots so I scouted out the area for the perfect location. The sunflower fields on the right are beautiful. They have vines and other small flowers all over the place. I was like that heart eyes emoji looking at how perfect it was (despite the Tennessee humidity… and all the bees).
The sunflowers bloom around the beginning of July and only stay in bloom for a few short weeks. I was there on Sunday, July 24th and a lot of them were starting to wilt. Probably because of this crazy heat we’ve had.
A few notes for my photographer friends out there. If you are thinking about shooting here, absolutely do it. I loved my mini sessions here (and now I want to offer more mini sessions, those are fun!) BUT there will be a lot of other photographers around so be respectful of each other and share the space. It also gets very hot very quickly. I’d plan to shoot as early or late as possible, which will help with better lighting as well as the crowds. I think this is the perfect location for both portrait and landscape photographers. I’m already planning to go back next year.
