Groupon Getaway Review Of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
Have you ever been curious about Groupon Getaways? Last year I decided to take the chance and purchase one. There was a great deal to an all inclusive resort in Punta Cana. The deal included the round trip flight (from Nashville) and 5 nights at an all inclusive resort. Transportation was provided through the travel agency for an additional charge. Kyle and I went to Punta Cana on our honeymoon, so it was good to be able to compare this experience to see if it was worth it. Overall, it was inexpensive, easy to schedule, and a relaxing vacation.
Booking the trip
Booking the trip was so easy! Groupon is simple to use. You just pick the vacation you want, select dates/airport, and pay. After booking the trip, I contacted Vacation Express by phone to complete the booking with flight, transportation, and hotel details. That’s it. To me, this was a major pro for not having to deal with all of the booking myself. I enjoyed working with Vacation Express through the booking process, they were friendly and easy to work with.
Most of the Groupon Getaways that include air travel are from select major airports. We drove to Nashville the morning of our flight, which wasn’t a big deal, but something to keep in mind. I think they offer flights out of different airports for an additional fee, but you would have to contact the travel agency to discuss specifics. The flight out of Nashville was, surprisingly, really fun. The flight attendants provided free drinks to everyone the entire time. Our flight was at 9AM, but, whatever, that’s what you do on vacation!
We stayed at the Tropical Princess Beach Resort and Spa. What are the benefits of staying at an all-inclusive resort? FREE drinks all the time, obviously. It is also nice to relax and not worry about anything. The resort itself was just average. If you are considering visiting Punta Cana, there are a TON of resorts and probably a lot of them are nicer than this one. Some things I didn’t like about this resort were that only a couple of the restaurants were actually included in the all-inclusive, rooms were average, seemed overly crowded at the pools, not a lot of activities on the resort, and wrong side of the island for snorkeling.
The good thing about Groupon Getaways is that it updates the destinations all the time. I would just suggest to research the hotel and read reviews about it before you decide to purchase.
Visiting Punta Cana
Punta Cana is a wonderful place to visit. The beaches are incredibly beautiful, snorkeling is fantastic (if you’re in the right place), and there are loads of excursions to explore the world outside of the resort. I’ll write a post about my other trip to Punta Cana, because it was a lot more adventurous and exciting.

Overview of using Groupon Getaways
My experience using Groupon Getaways was great! I would definitely recommend to use this as a money saving travel resource. You will want to do some independent research to ensure you are getting a good deal before booking. You also have to be somewhat flexible as there are set dates to choose from. I would definitely book a Groupon Getaway again the future.
