Little River Trail, Elkmont : Hiking In The Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Little River Trail, Elkmont
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is full of wonderful trails, and the Little River Trail, Elkmont is no exception. It’s a really easy trail, with a gradual incline, that follows the Little River. There are a handful of old cottages towards the entrance of the trail, which are pretty cool to walk around and check out. I would consider this more of a walking trail because it is so easy. It would also be a pretty quick trail to enjoy on a weekend morning.
It’s been a couple of years since I hiked this trail. (October 2014) It’s a perfect spot if you want to soak in all of the beauty in the mountains. It’s also really easy to set up a tripod by the river and get some nice landscape shots.
Click the Little River Trail, Elkmont link above if you are interested in going. The GSMNP has a much more detailed informational page about it. It’s worth a visit, especially if you’ve never been there before.
