The MuseThe Muse is Knoxville’s Children’s Museum and it’s fun for all ages. There are a lot of different play areas, arts and crafts, a Planetarium, and more. We have loved going here so much that we purchased a membership.

The ZooZoo Knoxville is another fun place to visit with kids. Who doesn’t love the zoo? There are a few special kid play areas throughout the zoo. We also have a membership here and love it.

Story Time at The Library – The Knoxville Library offers story time all week long and on Saturdays. It’s such a great activity for younger kids because it’s educational and fun. There are 3 different age groups for story time, from birth to 5 years old. You can find story time information on the Knoxville Library’s website. This is an activity that we do weekly and I highly recommend it.

Outdoor Play at a Playground – There are a ton of great playgrounds all over Knoxville. We love to get out and enjoy them when the weather is nice enough. You can find a comprehensive list of Knoxville’s playgrounds here. There is most likely one near you. Two of my favorite playgrounds are the Karns Community Park and Fort Kid.

Walk around Market Square – The perfect way to see Knoxville is to walk around downtown Knoxville and through Market Square. There are often events and festivals going on that will be fun for everyone.

Take a short hike at Ijams Nature Center or Meads Quarry – If you’re looking for something outdoorsy to do with the kids, then Ijams Nature Center or Meads Quarry are both excellent options. The trails are easy and short enough to kids to hike on their own. There are lots of interesting things to see around the area. It’s always fun to get outside with kids.
